Getting older. Ageing.
It happens to us all.
But does it need to happen as quickly and as dramatically as we’ve come to accept? Extensive research into ageing and NAD+ seems to think not.
NAD+ and ageing
NAD+ is a coenzyme that naturally occurs in every single person on the planet. As we get older, our levels of NAD+ naturally decline and it is thought that these declining levels are linked to symptoms we commonly associate with the ageing process. These include things like memory loss, fatigue, depleting energy levels, brain fog and even skin elasticity. By age 40, our levels of NAD+ have declined by 50%. And this jumps to 80% by age 60.
After extensive research into the coenzyme, it’s been discovered that NAD+ plays a critical role in regulating the rate at which we biologically age and Harvard researchers have shown that increasing NAD+ levels in mammals can reverse several biochemical parameters associated with the ageing process.
Because NAD+ is vital to cellular functioning and that NAD+ levels decrease as we age, many scientists believe a key process in slowing or even reversing the ageing process is to maintain healthy, supplemented NAD+ levels.
How does NAD+ work?
NAD+ battles ageing by activating key anti-ageing enzymes called sirtuins, specifically SIRT1 and SIRT3. Sirtuins contribute to longevity by favourably controlling gene expression.
NAD+ is also intrinsically linked to mitochondrial energy production, cellular energy metabolism and ATP (the body’s energy currency).
What this means is that NAD+ helps the body produce more energy on a cellular level and promotes cellular health.
We have created NAD+ supplements that are based on the same formulation that we deliver in our NADclinic via IV therapy. Our Optima Max range contains 100mg of pure NAD+ to give you the highest grade NAD+ supplements possible.
These NAD+ supplements are an easy and convenient way to boost your NAD+ levels. Simply take two tablets per day to reap the anti-ageing benefits.
We offer a supplement subscription service to ensure you never run out of your NAD+ supplements. Subscribe and save up to £240*
