Many people recovering from coronavirus feel extremely fatigued for quite a while after they’ve stopped being infectious. This can be because your body is continuing to respond to the COVID-19 infection, even though the initial infection has got better. This is known as post-viral fatigue. There’s also something known as long COVID. The most recent statistics released by the government has revealed that an estimated 1.2 million people in the UK are experiencing long COVID symptoms. That’s just under 2% of the entire population. 54% of those experiencing long COVID say that fatigue is the most severe side effect, making it the most common symptom.
